All academies within the Trust are governed by the L.E.A.D. Academy Trust Board and Members. The L.E.A.D. Academy Trust governance structure establishes clear lines of accountability, overview and scrutiny at three levels: The L.E.A.D. Academy Trust Members; the L.E.A.D. Academy Trust Board and its Committees; and the Academy Governing Body (AGB).
The AGB meets formally three times each year (termly) and also meets informally each term through engagement meetings. The Trusts scheme of delegation, AGB terms of reference and articles of association can be accessed by the clicking the links below. These key documents set out the function and role of the AGB.
Please find below details about this academy’s AGB membership, including the names and terms of appointment for each member.

Murray McKirdle is a former Clerk to the Hogarth Academy Governing Body and former member of the L.E.A.D. Academy Trust Governance Team. He is currently a Parliamentary Assistant to Nottingham South MP, Lilian Greenwood. Murray has worked in the education sector for two Multi-Academy Trusts and brings significant experience of working with school staff and Governors to support school improvement work and holding senior leaders to account.
He has a particular focus on helping Hogarth Governors engage with the whole school community, as well as working with school staff to support Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) pupils.
We are always on the look out for new members for our Academy Governing Body. Anyone over the age of 18 years can be a governor (subject to a DBS check) and all you need is a desire to make a difference and an interest in the future of our children, plus time, energy and commitment. All of our Governors will be given membership to the National Governance Association to help develop them in their role.
If you would like to apply, please contact Governance@leadacademytrust.co.uk who can put you in touch with our Chair of Governors.
